Dec 21 Holiday Programme (Japan - 'Ibekana' flora arrangement for Charity)

During the first week of school holiday from 22/11/21 - 26/11/21, we worked on a charity project, aimed to raise funds for the less fortunate. We leveraged on the 1st week of travel itinerary plan to Japan for the project.

We formed groups of 5 and salvaged materials to make pots of flowers. The concept of flowers arrangement was derived from Ibekana, a Japanese style of flora art. Ibekana represents how blossoms, leaves, branches and stems find new life after transferring from nature to a nurtured environment.

We attempted to follow as closely as to how Ibekana was presented and managed to create 4 pots of flowers. They were namely Pot of Faith, Pot of Grace, Pot of Joy and Pot of Wellness. All were intended for the social service agency, Lutheran Community Care Service Ltd (LCCSL).

Childhood Builder After School together with the parents and students raised a total sum of S$1000 (Dollars One Thousand Only)! The sum and the Pots of Goodness were presented to LCCSL before Christmas. We hope our little thoughtfulness bring much help to the ones in need of them.
